Time Flies
Bucket List Hike
I have a fitness bucket list of things I want to try that I would have never been able to do being "unhealthy". I'm not at my weight loss goal yet, but I feel great and wanted to get started. I hiked up North Fork Trail in Big Pine, Ca. It was a 20 mile hike total, but I only made it to the 10 mile marker. That's OK with me, I made it halfway and I'm only in my first 30 days of my weight loss journey. I set the next date to try and succeed again in one month.

Fitness Bucket List
I think it is a great idea to have goals for your fitness journey. This is a little project to do to keep you motivated. My list includes an overnight hike up Mt. Whitney, a mud run, and rock climbing...just to name a few.

Motivation
Some helpful motivational tools for me is first having a "SPACE" for just me....I have my treadmill, TV, ipod dock, goodbye photos, and motivational poster of pictures and sayings, my measurements, and most of all my calendars (90days), which was another dollar store find :)
Seeing is Believing
I'm a visual learner...I need to see it to believe it!! I did this little project to keep me visually informed on my weight loss challenge. Now, I'm also a bargin shopper, so I literally only spent $4.00 on this, all materials are from the dollar store. Check out www.pinterest.com for other great ideas.

Less Than 200 Calorie Pizza
I was craving pizza today for lunch. The easy thing to do was call for pizza delivery, but I knew I could come up with something from the fridge and let me tell you, THAT was a great decision.....it was YUMMY!!! Places like Pizza Hut is between 170-300 calories per slice depending on the toppings. I made a personal size (4 slices) pizza which totaled under 200 calories for the whole pizza. Here is the recipe...(and of course, served on a blue plate)
1 whole wheat pita pocket
1 tbs. of low fat alfredo sauce
diced roma tomato
diced red onion
a few raw spinach leaves sliced
1 tbs. of feta cheese
1 tbs. of shredded mozzarella cheese
Bake on a pizza stone at 375 for about 10-15 mins.
DELISH!!

The Blue Plate Special
I heard either on "The Doctors" or "Dr. Oz" show, that the color blue is an appetite suppressant. If you are trying to lose weight you should put your food on a blue plate...what the heck, I'll try anything. Went to the dollar store and BAM I got a blue plate for $1.00. Here is a link to the BLUE theory.

Goodbye Photos
I'm riddled with anxiety, tears, and pure disappointment when I look at these pictures. You must be saying "WOW what guts, (no pun intended) she has to put before pictures on her blog". Well the truth is, it's kind of liberating to say "GOODBYE" to the old me. I'm tired of feeling worthless and unhealthy. This is my body and my life, and it's time to do this for ME!! This is the heaviest (non-pregnant) weight I have ever been, and I have struggled with my weight my whole life. For decades I have tried numerous over the counter diet pills, shakes, gum, patches, the elastic band around the wrist, countless DVDs, exercise equipment....and I gave up!! I wasn't seeing results because none of this was "magic". I wasn't doing anything right. You have to want this from your soul...get your mind right, and ready for the challenge. I KNOW it's NOT going to be easy...but I NEED this life style change. YES, I said life style change, I want and need to change what I eat, when I eat, and how I eat, as well as getting into a routine of exercise. I want to boost those endorphins to feel and look better and have energy for my family. I say GOODBYE to the person in these photos and look forward to meeting the "New" me.
You've Got Mail
The most exciting day yet.....today there it was with angels singing, my first order of shakeology and P90X.....hallelujah!!! Yeah baby, the road is finally paved now it's time to put it in gear and GET FIT, no more excuses!!!
